During the 2020 harvest period, the carnaúba institute carried out the “Carnaúba Itinerante” project with the objective of encouraging the improvement of working conditions in the area. The project promoted training and assistance, individually, to suppliers and their group of employees. The project took place in the main producing states: Piauí, Maranhão, Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte.
During the training many topics were addressed.

- Good agricultural practices
- Corona Virus prevention measures in rural environments
- Health and safety at work
Producers also benefited from the distribution of COVID-19 virus prevention kits, kits with work safety material and educational booklets. The team coordinated by the Environmental Engineer and coordinator of the Instituto Carnaúba Diego Teixeira had the support of several professionals. This included a nursing technician and an occupational safety technician. The actions were carried out in the field, following the protocols recommended by the World Health Organization.
